Meet Mr. Terry
Grant Terry is one of the most interesting musicians I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing. You may already be familiar with Grant Terry as he has already been around the block a few times in the music industry. From opening for Sam Hunt and Marc Broussard to speaking at Harvard Law School, Mr. Terry is quite the interesting and of course wicked, talented artist. He has had one lucky charm after another thrown his way. Louisiana native, Grant Terry, is on his way, making a name for himself in Nashville and currently rising up in the pop world.
Do you drive for Uber? You must pick up a lot of chicks!
Grant Terry spent a year juggling an Uber job, while also maintaining his artist career. As most of us in the music industry know, finding that perfect life-balance is not easily achieved. While Grant was driving for Uber, he was low-key strategically networking with his riders that would eventually turn into fans. And truth be told, that is how I met Grant Terry as well.
I’ll take you down to Malibu
Grant Terry has a knack for songwriting. His tropical single, Malibu, is a “fun in the sun” type of song that is a balanced upbeat tune that you may or may not have heard on the MTV show, Catfish. Mr. Terry’s love for The Beatles is showcased in this sweet-talking tune, as placed into his lyrics, “The Yellow Submarine for two, Magical Mystery Tour”. According to Mr. Terry himself, Malibu might not be the actual place itself, but a state of being. Malibu symbolizes being in a relaxed, comfortable state of mind. His smooth, almost romantic tone gives it a flirtatious edge. Whenever you listen to this song, it’s impossible to not picture the ocean or a place of relaxation. He gained almost 200,000 streams on Spotify and is currently being featured on the HOT Wild Country playlist. It is no wonder why people are digging it so much. A song that calms you down after a long, stressful day is what the people want to hear. Especially with a vocal tone that makes you feel like you’re floating out on an ocean with a pina colada in your hand.
What’s Up with Grant Terry Now?
Grant Terry is currently on a 15-date Grand Marquis tour, spanning from California to New York City. Which I might add, he booked himself. Grant Terry has proved himself not only to be a self-sufficient musician, but an artist who is finding his musical niche along the way that people are craving more of.
If you don’t want to get left behind you’ve got to get on Grant Terry’s socials and follow the shit out of him. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Spotify!
