Networking Online is new frontier for many of us. Sure, we’ve all been using social media for well over a decade, but we want to flesh out what exactly digital networking is.
In the age of social media, for better or worse, much of our interactions with each other happen online. This has changed the dynamics of how we socialize, market and even spend our money. The truth is, connections are made digitally every day, every second and every hour. Thing is, there are so many options in the social media world for you to expand your reach, including niche platforms for music like Soundcloud, Bandcamp and Nashville Unsigned.
In fact, you can bet this episode will appear on several of these platforms.
Networking Online is promotion.
At the very least, your digital network is a starting point. First of all, it connects you with potential fans (which is kind of a big deal). Facebook is notoriously great for finding and interacting with fan bases, but it would greatly benefit you to look outside of the obvious. Secondly, you can find live events for more face-to-face networking with a click of a button. Facebook makes it ridiculously easy to find such events. Come to think of it, so does our Nashville Unsigned event calendar.
To sum this episode up, it’s important to diversify your marketing plan online. It’s just as important to diversify the platforms you interact on. Finally, consistency is vital to success. If you don’t interact with your fans, how are they going to know you love them right back?
