The Love Elektrik is the Nashville pop rock scene in carnage. With a blend of old-school, Prince-style pop rock and modern synth pop elements, these guys are bringing sexy back to the Nashville scene.
Originally the brainchild of front man Anthony Rankin, who’s gifted at a number of instruments, The Love Elektrik came to life as he met bandmates in Nashville. Bassist Victor Brodén was one of the first, siting their shared love of Prince and the Backstreet Boys as influences on their style. Once Rankin and Brodén gathered their band, guitarist Douglas Collins, keyboardist Darius Mines and drummer Myron Howell, they took pop rock to another level in Nashville.
Another impressive element these guys have is their vitality and colorful branding. It highlights another creative aspect to this group, and the elements in their sound match their creative image. It really helps highlight and distinguish their sound in a sea of rock and country. Their mojo is a potent addition to the Nashville pop rock scene.
“Lexi J”
Their latest single “Lexi J” is sex-made-music. Or maybe sound sex? I don’t know, you probably should just watch their video to understand. The song has cool blues elements in the way Rankin riffs on his guitar. This is followed by a rhythm that snaps and synth elements the compliment the two. It’s a gritty slow-jam with a little bit of soul, and is brought to life with a virtual ton of flavor. As I mentioned, the video is way cool. What makes it great is the way Rankin is rocking out with this smokin’ hot girl. The song gets this retro-cool flavor and the video expresses that nicely, adding crisp and colorful composition to the mix.
Check out “Lexi J” on their website. Or you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. They’re cool guys with a cool sound.
