My my my, where to start with these guys.
So I had the absolute pleasure of seeing My Politic, for the first time, at a Party On The Moon event. As they were taking the stage I was in and out of showing them attention, because if you’ve been to a Party On The Moon then you know there is alot going on. As I’m standing there, engulfed in conversation, My Politic began their intro. Five seconds into that intro and my conversation came to a screeching halt. They had completely captured my attention not only with their sharp harmonies and clever songwriting skills but also each band members skill set on the instruments they were playing. Their music took me to this amazing Mumford and Sons place. At that point, I was sold.
My Politic originated in Springfield, MO by founding members Kaston Guffey and Nick Pankey. Forming in 2007, playing more shows than we can count and recording 6 albums from 2007-now, these guys stay busy. They have had successes around licensing and sync deals but their passions have always lied in being connected to their fans at shows and doing what they love to do, perform. The great news is you won’t have to wait for long to see My Politic live because they are embarking on a fall tour for the next few months, hitting house concerts and venues around the country. And trust me, when you get the opportunity to see My Politic live, definitely seize that moment. Witnessing what they do live, you know you are witnessing something special, you also know it’s only a matter of time before these guys break out and EVERYONE knows about them. So jump on that My Politic band wagon now.
What’s also super cool about the band, My Politic, not only are they badass musicians, songwriters, an vocalists, they are also badass human beings. The band has a podcast called Mad Valley Lodge, can be found on Itunes , where they invite their favorite independent bands to come and play a house concert in their living room. Creating the most amazing ambiance in their living room. Inviting their friends to come hang, eat, drink, build relationships and community all while getting to experience some amazingly talented bands perform in the most intimate setting. I recently attended my very first Mad Valley Lodge, and the guys from My Politic are doing with the podcast and house concert truly is something special. These guys believe in investing into people first and foremost. You guys when in my book.
