In this episode of the Nashville Unsigned Podcast, we discuss how to make money as an artist. Pretty straight forward, right?
The funny thing is, it’s much more convoluted than most people might think. We no longer live in a world of simply selling music, so thinking outside the box can take your music career to the level you want to be on. Though these methods may or may not blast your career to superstardom, it’s important to generate some sort of income off all this effort.
So, let’s really talk about how to make money as an artist.
The idea is to diversify your income streams. You know, diversify that portfolio!
If you can quit a crappy part-time job and survive off nothing but your music career, then you, my friend, are winning. Think about it. What if all that energy, focus and stress was saved for one purpose—your purpose? These small victories can save your passion for the project and propel your career forward. Also, they help to hone your focus to one thing.
First of all, consider your impact on the community around you. Would your image be valuable to a local or nationwide brand? Endorsements can be pure magic, whether they put money in your pocket or further your show promotions. Considering the business side of your career will keep it afloat for much longer. It’s all about staying ahead of the curve as best as possible.
So, let us know your thoughts on our ideas. It’s fun to consider all the possibilities. We like to think about it as another outlet to place your creativity. Congratulations, you’ve joined the entrepreneur club of Music City!
